Why Suriname
Dutch is Suriname's official language, and the country is on UTC−3 without daylight saving.[4]
SITA promotes business services, including BPO, as an investment sector; RVO lists outsourcing among sectors of interest for Dutch companies.[2][3]
Who operates in Suriname
- Teleperformance — about 1,600 FTE.
- Concentrix — about 1,100 FTE and 1,100 seats.
- Yource — about 750 FTE; in Suriname since 2013.
- CustomConnect — about 575 seats; since 2018.
- VANAD Engage — about 250 FTE and 400 seats.
- Call Factory — about 90 FTE and 80 seats; since 2007.
- Smaller and newer operators include ContactCare, DHC Offshore, DIRECT Customer Contact, ETB Support Solutions, CloudTeams, ClientMind, Change and Global Support Company.
Added together, the operators listed employ several thousand people, concentrated in Paramaribo — a large employer group for a labour market of about 600,000 people, and one that competes with offshore oil and gas for bilingual administrative talent.
What this means for buyers
For Dutch and Belgian companies, the choice is less 'whether' than 'which model': a managed service from an established operator, a dedicated team with a smaller provider, or a captive centre. Wage inflation and talent competition are the risks to plan for.
Figures are as reported by the operators to the Dutch trade publication Ziptone in September 2025; they have not been verified by Suriname Partners.
