Why onshore logistics matters
TotalEnergies has stated that Paramaribo will be the hub for GranMorgu's administrative and logistics activities, with local companies participating in logistics and support services.[1]
Nieuwe Haven in Paramaribo handles about 90% of Suriname's imports and exports.[8]
Shore bases and terminals
- Kuldipsingh Port Facility — ten-year contract with TotalEnergies EP Suriname B.V. (announced 14 November 2025) to develop and operate an Integrated Logistics Base in Paramaribo for GranMorgu, starting in the first quarter of 2026.
- DP World Paramaribo — one of the port's terminal operators, offering oil and gas base services, freight and marine agency; quay depth 7.0 m at low water; pipe yard and climate-controlled storage.
- J&L Terminal Shore Base (J&L Supplies Suriname) — Nieuwe Haven Industrial Zone; marine gas oil supply launched with UTC Overseas in 2026, plus cargo handling, storage, water and waste services.
- ASCO — in Suriname since 2022 supporting Block 58; by 2026 operating Dordt Marine Port, described as the newest shore base in Suriname.
- VSH Transport — port terminal operator since 1965 with stevedoring, warehousing, customs brokerage and offshore support.
- N.V. Havenbeheer Suriname — the state port company managing the Dr. Jules Sedney terminal and the port of Nieuw Nickerie.
Where buyers are procuring now
Staatsolie's September 2026 RFEoI for customs clearance, freight forwarding and inland transportation prequalifies contractors for a later Invitation to Bid; submissions close 16 October 2026.[9]
How to read this market
Base capacity is concentrating around a few Paramaribo operators with operator contracts or international partners. Smaller logistics firms are more likely to win work as subcontractors to these bases — trucking, customs, warehousing, crew transport, waste — than directly from operators.
For an international logistics provider, the practical entry is a partnership with one of these bases or a Surinamese customs and transport firm already known to buyers. For a Surinamese firm, documented HSE systems and SSRP registration are the minimum.
Listing here is not a recommendation. Each organisation's profile shows its verification status.
