The World Bank's procurement notices for the Saramacca Canal System Rehabilitation Project include a contract award for the rehabilitation of the Doorsteek lock and sluices to PowerChina Jiangxi Electric Power Construction Co., Ltd. (signed price USD 11,305,696.31; notice of 3 June 2024) and an award for canal maintenance to International - Infra N.V. (USD 2,524,696.98; notice of 7 September 2023). Both were procured through Request for Bids.
Status is inferred from the award dates; we have not verified progress on site.
